BALL

So far the furthest I have managed to go back on this line is to William Ball who was my Gt.Gt.Grandfather.
William's details are as yet a bit sketchy. I do know that he was born about 1857 but on the 1891 census he gives his birthplace as "N.K." which I take stands for Not Known (Thanks William!)

I have a possible entry for him in the 1881 census as follows but I can not prove that it is him as yet!

I am told that William was married twice but I have no record as yet of a first wife.
The next piece of information that I have is the birth certificate of my Gt.Grandmother Alice Ball in 1883.
Alice was born on 12th July 1883 to William and Mary Ball. Alice's birth certificate states that she was born at Oscroft,Tarvin and this is also given as her parent's place of residence at the time. Her father William gives his occupation as a farm labourer and her mother's name is given as being formerly Mosley
.

By the time of the 1891 census the family had moved to Manley Common,Frodsham the entry reads:

Manley Common, Frodsham
William Ball HD. M. 34 Farm Lab. N.K.
Mary Ball WI. M. 32 C. Cotebrook
Alice Ball DA. 7 Scholar C. Oscroft

William and Mary also had a son named William born about 1891
Little else is known of William and Mary apart from that Mary died about 1927 and William died sometime before this.
Alice went on to marry Tom Crawford on 22nd Febuary 1909 at Chester Registry Office.
Alice and Tom lived at "Kelsall Lodge" at Kelsall.
Alice died on 13th December 1969 and was buried at St. Peters Church, Delamere.
